Student Jobs Fair

We host an annual Student Jobs Fair. If you are a local organisation looking to recruit part-time staff this year, then this is your chance to meet up to 1,000-1,500 bright, talented and motivated UEA students (the average number who usually atttend). We also run a Recruitment Fair for employers seeking graduates.

UEA students become award winning employees

We have been telling local employers at every opportunity that our students can bring fresh ideas and success to their business and for the first time we’ve received formal recognition of that fact. In 2011 three of our students received Student Employee of the Year Awards. One of them was also a Regional winner in his category, beating competition from 10 universities in the Midlands region.

Types of vacancies

EmployAbility advertises a wide range of vacancies including part-time, vacation and voluntary work and work experience. These can change almost on a daily basis and will vary according to the time of year. The types of vacancies that we advertise include:

EmployAbility is also happy to advertise vacancies from employment agencies.

NB: EmployAbility will not advertise jobs that are below the minimum wage or that are commission only.

Work experience

EmployAbility will be happy to advertise any work experience placements that you have to offer. These can be as flexible as you wish and may involve an element of project work. Project work is different from casual work in that students work for a company until set objectives have been met, rather than on an ongoing basis.

These are perfect opportunities for students to develop their knowledge in a practical setting and build up their CV. This type of work is often undertaken in vacation or on a part-time basis, alongside studies. It can vary from a couple of hours per week to a couple of days.

The types of project work that have been undertaken in the past include web site development and developing marketing strategies for a company.

If you are interested in offering a form of work experience to UEA students please contact us.

Naturally, levels of commitment and types of skills will vary according to the student. We ask that you take into account study commitments when agreeing hours and length of work.
